Nobody's perfect (except maybe you, domestic goddess) but most of us want to have a nice smelling kitchen without all the work. That's why this crazy, simple DIY hack will make you appear like the domestic queen that you are. No one will ever know it's just a DIY hack!
DIY Trash Can Deodorizers
- 1/2 cup Baking Soda
- 2 TBSP of water
- Essential oils for scent and extra odor removal power (I loves this brand)
Preheat your oven to 350 F.
While the oven is heating up, put the baking soda in a small dish, add the water and mix it up until the mix will clump together. *If you use your fingers, then you may want to use gloves because some people find baking soda can be irritating to the skin.
Put it all in a mini silicone mold (this is my favorite
). I like to only fill the molds up half way, but you're an adult. You can go wild and fill it up all the way.

After you fill the molds, place the silicone tray in the oven for 8-10 minutes.
After you remove it from the oven, let it sit for about 5 minutes to cool, and then add 1-2 drops of essential oils to each trash can deodorizer.
I prefer using Purification Essential Oil with extra Lemon because it is such a clean, fresh scent plus the Purification helps remove unwanted odors. But you can use your favorite essential oil cuz you know what you like.

Gently pop the molds out of the tray and store them in a jar with a lid to keep the freshness contained (like these
). Without a lid, it will begin absorbing kitchen odors, releasing the essential oils and becoming useless. So use a lid, puh-lease!!
