Getting Started With Non-Toxic Cleaning

One of the easiest ways to get started reducing chemicals is by swapping out some of your cleaning products!

Non-Toxic Cleaning Tips
  • Start slow. Swap out one product at a time!
  • The easiest things to swap out are things like counter sprays, floor cleaners, air fresheners, and carpet fresheners.
  • Harder swaps are anything that normally suds ups like dish soap or dishwasher detergent.
  • Baking soda and vinegar will be your new BFFs
  • Essential oils can always be swapped out for the ones you like more for scent BUT there are some which are better for cleaning!
    • Lemon- adhesive, goo or grease removal
    • Purification- odor removal
    • Tea Tree, Cinnamon, Pine or Thieves- mold
    • Orange- grease removal
    • Eucalyptus- mattress cleaning
    • Thyme-- cutting board cleaning
  • Consider getting a diffuser to help purify the air and surrounding areas!
