I have tried Kiss My Face Toothpastes before and really liked them, so when I stumbled across a "Kiss My Face" Olive oil and Aloe bar soap I was really excited to give it a try.
I believe this was intended for your face, but I plan on using it for my body. I'm a rebel, what can I say! I've been using my DIY aloe moisturizer for my face with just a splash of water before I apply it and it's been working great. My normally red face has calmed down and I'm not breaking out any more! Love that stuff. I am tinkering with the thought of making a coconut oil face cleanser-- but I haven't committed yet!

Occasionally, I will try new organic or natural products to see if I can add them to my healthier supply of beauty products, cleaners, or what not.
I happened to be at Publix and I saw that they had Jason's Cinnamon Clove Mouthwash.
Man, I snatched that shiznitch up! I've heard good things about Jason's products and I've even ordered (on trusty amazon.com) a toothpaste made by Jason's. I'm still waiting for it come so I can see how it stacks up against Tom's and Kiss My Face toothpaste (both pretty great products-- which I plan to discuss when I get the Jason's toothpaste).
When I got home, I was really excited so I headed straight to the bathroom. I took off the top and smelled it. It was nice-- strong scent of cinnamon and a back note of clove so that name was dead on. I took a swig and forget the cinnamon! All I tasted was clove. It is very, very, very, very strong. If you love clove, then you will probably like this product. However, I do not love clove-- I think it's better as a back note. I don't think I'll be using Jason's Cinnamon Clove Mouthwash again just because of the intensity of the flavor. Otherwise, it was a good product. I'd love to try Jason's mouthwash in a different flavor!

OMG. This is crazy. We've been shoving God knows what up our lady parts.
When I read an article stating that tampons have "extremely or highly hazardous" amounts of pesticides I began to seriously worry about my baby box. Men are the stereotype for prizing their privates, but I kind of like mine, too.
If I'm putting poison where I plan on housing a growing fetus for 9 months…. what will happen to the baby?!
Research says it's unlikely to cause serious harm, but there are synthetic and chemical items in tampons and maxi-pads that can cause problems for a growing fetus or even making a baby. The pesticides that are used commonly by cotton growers have been linked to infertility, developmental defects and neurological problems. Seven of the most common pesticides used in cotton are linked to various kinds of cancers.
So even if I don't end up with Frankenstein baby there is a chance that my vajayjay is going to look like something that came out of a horror movie. Yeah, no thanks!!
Did you know that if a product claims to have a fragrance or cover up an odor, then it is considered a "trade secret" and the ingredients do not need to be disclosed?
So they can put whatever they want in my feminine products and not tell me about it? Greeaaatttt... What else could be living in my vagina?
There is a chemical (dioxin) that is often found in cotton, which is something the FDA monitors. However, they do not require cotton to be dioxin free. They simply require the dioxin to be at a low level. That sounds okay, right? But our lady parts are extremely sensitive! They are lined with a mucous membrane which absorb pretty much whatever we put up there.

When I first moved into my house I had this large niche in the great room that I really had no idea what to do with. And by large I mean large: 10 feet high and 15 feet wide.
The man had a vision of a cordless mounted TV, but he didn't want anything to cover the cords-- he wanted them behind the wall. He worked tiresomely for days removing drywall, running electric wires, installing new outlets, and then the patching drywall and repainting. It looks PERFECT. If you ever came to my house you would never know it wasn't built that way. That's one of the reasons I adore him. :)
As you can expect, I was browsing on Pinterest trying to find ideas what to do with that niche and I saw a few build your own built in bookcase by using Ikea Billy Bookcases. Brilliant! They are cheap, labor is cheap (the man works for cookies), and it really didn't seem all that hard.
So I went to Ikea and bought four Billy Bookcases in white and the man lovingly assembled them for me. I then went to Lowes and I bought four rolls of beadboard wallpaper because I had no idea how many I would need. Let's be honest-- I mess up a lot. After I bought the wallpaper, then I waited 9 months to put it up. This has been the most I've ever procrastinated in my life. I think.
This is why I decided to write this blog post in parts so that it'll actually get done... slowly.
Here are the planned steps:
- Beadboard the backs of the bookcases
- Fill the holes of the bookcase
- We will build doors for the lower part of the bookcases
- We will build an entertainment center to hold the DVR and DVD player.
- The man will remove the existing trim and replace it onto the bookcases.
- Both of us will trim out the entire bookcase system to cover an gaps where wood meets.
- Sand and paint!
It sounds like a lot when I put it down like that, but I swear the lady on the original blog post made it seem like it took her 3 hours to do. Granted, she was only making a built in with two bookcases and not an entertainment center, but man!. ::sigh::
The things that I do to myself....
